MLAARE -Dead Fish Fishout

I had a customer come into the store this morning,
Why?
To try and return some fish.
More specifically some Feeder Goldfish.

Which...we can't return.
There is a no return policy on the Feeder Goldfish because well....they're meant to be used as food for animals.

These particular customers had bought like 300 of them.
For a special event.
And they'd gotten them the night before.
And left them all overnight in a single 5 gallon bucket.

....Yah....unsurprisingly.
They weren't getting enough oxygen.
The water levels were getting toxic from ammonia build up.
And...so some died overnight.

Around 50 or so of them.

So because some of them had died.
They were wanting to get some new ones.

*shakes head*
But before I caught some additional fish for them,
They wanted me to do one thing first.

Fish out all the dead fish for them.

O.o Seriously? You can't do that yourself?
Grab a net.
Scoop them out.
Easy enough.

*shakes head*

But in any case, I took like 10 or so minutes to fish out all the dead among the living fish mostly to try and make the experience as good a one as possible since things hadn't gone totally to plan for them the night before.

I also went the extra mile and took out a lot of the water from the bucket and put in fresh water so the fish would have less ammonia in their water.

Then got their gold fish, bagging them up for them.

*sighs*
Hopefully not too many more died on them.
But as a feeder goldfish....
they really can appear healthy one moment and be dead the next. There is no guarantee for them to do well, especially when they're put in less than ideal conditions....

MRS -A New Move In

Okay,
It's official.
I like my new roommate.
Like, really really really really like her.

BECAUSE SHE'S NOT A GHOST!

YAY!
Cue the fireworks, the celebrations, the dance music, everything.

Because you don't know how amazing it is to actually have a roommate again who will take the time to stop and chat with you.
Where they don't just go hide in their room,
They hang out.
They ask about your day.
Give you time to ask about theirs.

It's great!

It's something that's been rather lacking in my apartment for the past little while.

Conversation.
Friendship.
Actually getting to know each other past the typical "Hi what's your name, major, job, etc." brief introductions.

It's actually nice,
Because my new roommate is pretty similar to me.

In characteristics, in what we like to have done.
She's made an effort to ask after my work schedule for example.

I've always liked having a general idea of when my roommates are going to be home, so I can basically make plans  around or with them.
And she likes the same.
Asked when I work, decided to get a calendar so we can write our schedules down.

I did that for a while with different apartments, different roommates.
Didn't do it this year,
Because the roommates weren't around. They didn't care.

This one does.

It's rather nice.
That someone else likes to take an interest in other people's lives as well. ^^

Yay for a change! :D

MRS -Moving x3

()_()
I really did miss the memo.
My last roommate finally came home.
She'd been gone for at least two weeks it seems like.

And what does she say basically as soon as she walks in the door?

"Hey, I have a girl coming to look at my contract today."
O.o
Roomie say Wha?!

Yah. Apparently she's trying to move out by this weekend. O.o
So that's THREE roomies.
Who all randomly decided to move out at the sameish time!

What's with this?
At least their reasons are different.
1. Engaged.
2. Moving back To Cali
3. Moving back home (as her home is like 20 minutes away and she's always there anyway.)

Still...
It's so weird.
What's really odd is that they all decided to move/moved out just days after I got my brand new Televison.

Coincidence? lol.
Did my brand new TV somehow scare my ghost roommates away?

No idea.

But all in all...
I'm halfway excited.
Excited for a whole new set of roommates.
*fingers crossed* that they're more social than this last bunch.

(Also, we'll see if the move actually happens, the girl coming to see the apt never showed)

MRS -Fridge Clean Out

You know,
I never realized how much had accumulated in our fridge.
Until one of my roomies had to clean it out for the cleaning check.
And then two of them moved out...
Which left us with a very very very empty fridge.

O.o
Honestly I'm still trying to figure out what was in there that made it look so crowded.
The roomie said that there'd been stuff in there that had expired last August? O.o

I didn't think too much about it.
All that had been tossed.

..... Until I tried to find some ketchup for my hotdogs.
Gone.
I swear I'd just bought a bottle. (probably months ago)
Thought there were like two or three in there.
But now.
Nothing.
>.< Maybe one of the roomies took it in their move...

But in any case.
I was ketchupless!
Who knew that ketchup even went bad!
(I did, it's just not something I consciously think about going bad...it seems to last forever in my mind.)

Luckily my neighboring friends had some for me to take. ^^
So I was able to have my hot dogs. ^^

MRS -Moving x2

O.o
Did I miss a Memo or something?

It hadn't even been two days!

But I woke up from a nap -to try and head off a headache that was brewing-
to hear voices in my apartment.
Not any voices.
Guys voices.
O.o
Then the sounds of moving, of packing.
So I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
And opened my door to find...

One of my Ghost Roommates moving out!
O.o

It was the roommate that had the problems with the plumbers earlier.
Apparently the whole situation sent her over the edge.
Apparently...she was going to be moving in a month anyway to go back to California for school there.
But decided to skip out of here a month early because of the plumbers and go live with her Aunt's family that are basically up the street from here.

So...in the space of a couple of hours....she'd gotten everything out of the apartment.
And was gone.
O.o

So weird!
I mean. Two Roommates moving out in Two days?!!
O.o
Is my third one going to move out as well?
I haven't seen her since the night before the cleaning checks.......it's always possible I suppose though I heard she was sticking it out ....

In any case.
I'm rather glad that this roomie has moved out.
The apartment feels....lighter in a way with her gone.
Kinda mean to say, I know.
But it does.
There doesn't seem to be such a weight in the air.

And it means that I now have two chances at new roommates who won't just hide in their rooms whenever they come home!

We'll have to see...The Roomie told me that one of her cousins is taking over her contract and will be moving in in about a week or so.
She states that this cousin is totally different from her...more social...but we'll see....see when and if she moves in...

MRS - Moving

O.O
Well...
That was unexpected.

So there I was.
Finally confident that no one would be barging into my apartment to fix things.
Pulling out my brand new TV
And very cautiously working to put it together because I didn't want to break my brand new TV.

It wasn't going as well as I wanted it to.
Because I had to screw the stand into the TV.
And my little screw driver wasn't working.
>.<
Ugh, me and my weak strength.
I was just trying to figure out who I could go to to help me put my TV together.
When I heard a key in the lock.

My New Roommate had returned!
I was overjoyed to see her, as I hadn't seen her in like a week or so.
"You're alive!' I exclaimed.

She smiled nodded, and before she even stepped through the door stated.
"I'm Moving!"

Excitement turned to horror.
SHE WAS MOVING?!
She hadn't even been in the apartment a MONTH! I'd only seen her like THREE Times!
And she was moving?!
Was it family problems?
Work drama?
Was it something I did? (Always a worry)
"What? Why!" I asked in shock.

Then she flashed it.
The engagement ring.
Blinding and white and big it was.

My roommate had gotten ENGAGED!!
O.o WHA!?
It was totally unexpected.
Totally depressing. >.<
I've been looking forward to having her here. Socializing with her, hanging out with her, doing stuff instead of having to deal with my roommates that just hide in their rooms.

Yah. So she grabbed like the seven items she had in the apartment.
And left.
Never to be seen again.
Y_Y Sooo Sooo Depressing!
The only bright side to that night was that her now fiancée came with her, and so I had him help me put my TV together with it's stand before they left.

but SERIOUSLY?!?!
I FINALLY get a roommate in who I think could actually be FUN and SHE MOVES!

Gah!
>.<
Now I'm left wondering who is the next to try apartment life with me...how long will they last? *sighs* Perhaps it's better if that bedroom just stays empty....

MRS -Checked and Rechecked

Well, that was a bit of a fiasco.
This month's cleaning checks.

Let's just say....
They didn't happen.
The cleaning part at least.

The checks did happen.

But for the first time in my current apt complex.
We didn't pass.

Why?
Because two of my roomies didn't do their cleaning!
I thought they had both seen it.
One had come back the night before....and disappeared.
Never to return it seems like.
Of course I hardly ever see her anyways.

The other, gone the entire weekend.

And when the checker came in...
I happened to be there.
The checker came,
Looked about.
Saw that things weren't quite how they were supposed to be.
And asked me.
"Have these been cleaned?"
I shook my head. "I haven't seen them do any cleaning." I said simply.

And so....they did not pass.
Thankfully, me and my other roomie who did work on cleaning DID pass.
So we were off the hook when it came time for the recheck.

I let them know about their recheck when I was able to.
One never responded....never came...never cleaned.
The other came back and complained the whole time while cleaning.

Only....
For no one to come check on them again when the recheck time came.
O.o

That's kinda frustrating.
>.<
In any case.
I hope that next cleaning check goes better than this one....

MRS -Moving

It happened just the other day.
My roommate went and moved away.

I've been waiting for this day for months.
Why?
Because I'm tired of dealing with Ghost Roommates.
And the knowledge that a new roommate would be moving in,
Was the only thing that kept me going.
As I hoped that this new one would be someone who would actually want to socialize and talk instead of just go to their rooms and be anti social.

I'd had high hopes of it working out.
But just a couple of days before my roomie moved.
The new girl came in with her.
To check out her new place.

And first impression.
Really depressed me.
Because she basically came in, took a look around, hardly said hi to me -and I was in the living room at the time.-
And left.

It crushed my hope.
Hope that I would have a social roommate.
And reinforced all the more that this place would forever hold only Ghosts as my roommates.

I. Am. So. Sick. Of. That.

So the joyous occasion of my old roommate moving out,
was marred.
Marred because it meant that one ghost would replace another.
It meant that I wouldn't get my side of the apartment to myself at all.
And I'd have to deal with a new roomie who'd barely talk to me.

*sighs*
Others keep saying that I need to take a more proactive approach to getting the Ghosties to stop being Ghosts. Drag them out of their rooms to do stuff.
Honestly....I've been worn down. It hadn't worked before. Why do I have to always be the one who outreaches? Why not have someone out reach to me?
I don't have the color personality to always be the leader, some days...I'd like someone else to take up that mantle.

In any case.

A day or two went by with no sign of the new roommate once my old one had left.
Perhaps she'd changed her mind.
Perhaps there'd been a mistake.
Perhaps....
Kept running through my head.

Until I was sitting out in the living room.
Working on a project.
And this person came out of the hallway.
At first I thought it was a different roommate.
As I'd had no indication that the new one had moved in. Well. She had lol.
And to my surprise, she came out to find me.
Even a bigger surprise....
She stayed to talk to me.
For like an hour!
There was no indication of just wanting to go hide out in her room.
It seemed like she genuinely wants to have a connection.

I was awestruck.
I'd never had a conversation last so long at all...with any of my other roommates.
It was like a heady dose of adrenaline.
The knowledge that someone actually wants to talk to me. Totally crazy.

I was so caught up in this amazing refound part of having a roommate that's social...
That I nearly spaced going to class. :S
I just wanted the moment to last forever because who knew if it would stay that way.

Seriously I was giddy afterwards.
My new roommate talked to me!!

It does sound like I won't see her that often, as she works two jobs, and is thinking of going to school as well in about a month.
But still, within twenty-four hours I've talked to her more than I've talked to all my other roommates in like 6 months!

^^
That's totally a good sign right?
It seems like we're a lot alike too. Only time will tell for sure.
But so far...this seems like the light at the end of a long dark tunnel. ^^

MRS -Lights

So my new roomie's room,
Is annoying.
Why?
Because, as she informed me a little earlier, if she leaves her curtains open, it looks like there is a light in her room, when her light isn't on.

I'd noticed this. Noticed that it always looked like her light was on,
But she wasn't home.

And it bugs me.
I know my roommates are anti social. They like to hide in their rooms.
But at least I like glancing at the cracks in the door to see if their home.
If their lights are on.

But with her room...
I never know.
Is she there?
Is she not?
It just looks like the light is on,
but that doesn't mean she's there.

In many ways I think it's worse than having them gone all the time.
Because seeing that light, gives a bit of hope that they're there to 'run into' should they venture out.
To know that that isn't going to always be the case.

:( Not fun.

MRS -Cleaning

I just terrified my roommate with the state of my bedroom.
And come to think of it.
It does look like a hurricane hit the place.
To her she was like "You can't even move in here!"
Sure I can, I mostly just go to my bed anyways. lol.
Still, I can see her point.
My room is a mess.
Not anything that I can't clean up in like half an hour though.
Put the clothes away,
put away Christmas.
throw out all the Christmas wrapping.
Make the bed.
Walla!
It's all clean once again lol.

"You can't have cleaned in months!"
"Only a couple of weeks." -I lied.
It actually has been months,
Not since last year have I made a serious attempt to clean my room
and that is because I haven't had to.
Cleaning checks haven't happened since November.

And when I don't have to clean.
I really don't do so.

Plus, for the most part, it's a manageable mess.
It only really got bad in the last two weeks because I brought home Christmas lol.
I still haven't figured out where to put everything yet.
Nor had the energy to try and do so.

At least she doesn't have to look into my room unless she makes an effort to lol.
Out of sight,
out of mind,
though I will probably have to show her my room 'clean' just to wash away the hurricane image from her head. lol

MRS -A New Ghost

My sunshine roommate moved out the other day.
Taking with her the constantly opened blinds in every single room that left us in a constant fishbowl state because she would not close them when she left the room. It was up to the rest of us to do that task.
Now though, it remains nice, the blinds are shut unless someone else opens them.

Now the question is....who is my new roommate?
Would she too be a ghost like all the others?

So far....
I am undecided.
She is definitely a bubbly personality from the two minutes I talked to her.
But.....she disappeared into her room like the others have done too.
Shutting the door,

So far....
the results are not looking good.
She states she'll always be there....but always there isn't considered always there if the door is constantly shut is it?
What use is it having roommates if you could never talk to them?

For now though...
It's the wait and see game.
There is a slight adjustment period that has to happen after all.
So we'll see....

If she actually is another ghost....or not.
