A Counting We Will Go

So, every now and then, we have to count all the animals in the store.
To ensure that everything is accurate between what is actually in the store, and what the system says we have in the store.
Basically this count is a 'fresh beginning.'

Now, last year, we got a notice that we only needed to do this 'fresh start' count once a year.
Why?
Because Every. Single. Week.
We count the animals.
Literally. We do.
Because if we don't count them every week, then we don't have an accurate inventory of our animals, and therefore wouldn't get anymore animals in because the system would think we would still have some.
So. We count every week.

Which means....it doesn't make a lot of sense as to why we need to do a 'fresh start' count every quarter like we'd been doing before.
It's basically wasted time.
So last year.
They said it would only be once a year.

However....
Things apparently change.
And we're back to doing them every quarter.
Which should mean every four months or so.

But it's stupid the count we did tonight.
Because literally we had to do the same count just TWO months ago. Back in January.
So it makes no sense whatsoever to have to do it again!

But again we did it.

And 7,051 animals later.

We had finished our count.

My eyes hurt....those fish are not easy to count. *shakes head*
